The phrase “form follow function”, associated with 20th century modernist architecture was coined by American Architect Louis Sullivan. It’s a principle that the shape of a building or object should be primarily based upon its intended purpose. This photographic series set against the Lagos landscape is a conversation that examines the mood, aesthetics, fluidity of the human interactions with the bridges, poles and street lights highlighting the growing neglect of some of these infrastructures. By inserting this phrase, I am advocating for an emphasis on the functionality of these structures which are incorporated into our daily lives.
